Welcome to innovate '06 : Regional Student Convention


Today's world is founded on the emergence of new technologies. Our predecessors sensed that these technologies and products would enable us to move ahead by leaps and bounds in the future. They imagined a complete set of new ideas and that has now brought us to a great future ahead. However, the future will place on us demands of innovations in technology, products and services. The future will not demand extensive and earthshaking ideas. But rather how we use the existing ideas to leverage these existing technologies to meet the demands ahead. What lies ahead? And what can we do to improve not only our country but the whole world? Are there any common dreams that we can innovate upon and thus create a new future for the digital illiterates?
We need to envision how the existing technologies, products and services can be further enhanced and thus enable us to move with white speed into the next era of civilization.

Computer Society of India
The Computer Society of India is one of the largest technical societies in India with over 20,000 members spanning more than 60 chapters and 220 student branches all over India. The Society is committed towards spreading computer awareness amongst the masses and delivering quality education in the field of Information Technology.

The Mumbai Chapter
The Mumbai Chapter has been one of the most vibrant of the CSI chapters since its inception. The Mumbai Chapter hosts several key events each year. More recently the Chapter hosted CSI2004 The Annual National Convention which received wide spread acclaim from the industry and the media. The Chapter also runs several innovative services to meet the expectations of its prime stakeholders viz. Corporates, Developers, Students and Users. The CiO Club is one such initiative started by the Chapter in the country. Being on the forefront of activities the Chapter is adjudged “The Best Chapter”. Other accolades include “Best Chapter Newsletter Award” and “The Best Student Branch Award”.

The Convention is designed to address students from Maharashtra & Goa, over 5000 students will participate in this convention. Topics during the Convention The convention will address issues such as Networking, Hardware, Telecom, Data Security, Careers, Open Source, Robotics.
